ive had this since last year and ive no idea what it is? been told its a yucca it seems just fine in the pot, but is this the best place?? i leave it well alone no feed or water and a slightly shaded spot.....

I think that is Gloriosa, same like mine.
Also a question: Why mine Yucca doesnt flower?

It looks like a yucca Gloriosa.

I have a Yucca, a 'house plant' variety, growing outdoors. Edo, mine has not flowered either.
How come the ones in a local supermarket car park, flower so well each year with plumes of creamy white flowers?

That one is Y. recurvifolia to me, although as we were discussing on another topic there are some hybrid looking ones about. Pure Y. gloriosa has stiff leaves. The recurvifolia refers to the flopping over (recurving) leaves. The one sold to me as Y.gloriosa has some floppiness to the leaves. You can't always believe your labels That one is recurvifolia looking whatever the label said

I brought a variegated one this week the label said recurvifolia the sticker on the pot said Gloriosa.

i recently picked up a very big aloifolia at ctp.all my label had was £11.99

I don't think its a Yucca Gloriosa.

This first photo is of my Gloriosa, and its leaves are very stiff and very sharp...!!
The second photo is of my Recurvifolia, and I think that this looks much more like Plan B's plant.

Although, now that I look more closely, my leaves seem a lot broader.....

Makes me now wonder if I have a genuine yucca recurvifolia or if I have one of those pesky hybrids........

Looks exactly like a Recurvifolia i bought from Akamba this spring, my flower spike looks identical, as do the leaves

For the first ever time, my Recurvifolia has sent out a flower spike, and now that it has, it looks almost identical to Plan B's one.....

edo dont worry about it,they dont look fantastic afterwards. enjoy it if it happens on yours but enjoy others if yours dont.thats my motto.i had a nice filamentosa flower year before last,last year looked pretty crappe all year then sent suckers up late in autumn.ive chopped the lot up now and got over a dozen new yuccas out of it.the pot was full of them,even sprouting out the holes in the bottom
