marie06 wrote:Dave, is that a red cordy in your photo? If so, how on earth did you get that to survive the recent freeze?
Marie, It is Cordyline purpurea, and has been there without protection for about 15 years.
It is a warm SE facing corner though

Stephen, people disagree with me everytime I open my mouth. Best thing is don't let it get to you. Other people are entitled to have a different opinion.

Having said that , I understand your irritation at the topic being diverted on to minimum temps, rather than Spring, but remember it takes 2 to Tango.

I think we are all suffering from Garden deprivation  so let's just try to hang in there for another 2/3 weeks until we get more spring like weather.

Temps not very spring like here but the Sun is rising icon_thumright

You must have a well insulated house Dave, the idea of a leather chair in a cold house makes me shiver

To be honest either way I wouldn't have stopped gardening so give the community spirit and the fact I'll need lots of questions answering about damage in the Spring I imagine

I think I overreacted with the leaving thing, although I will cut down on the climate stuff, as this is an exotic plant forum afterall

SteveP..... glad you're still on board!

Dave. for some reason, i find the picture with the chairs (and shadow) very sinister & disturbing! icon_pumpkin (can't find a smilie for "scared"). Scary!
