Nothing up here yet.
Mind you, I am not expecting anything for a couple of weeks yet anyway given my location

Re: Paulownia Growth
So far I've got four shoots but I've put it back outside now in the sunshine - however the nights are cold - I might bring it in. I'm expecting big things of her in year 2!

Re: Paulownia Growth
same here simon, i was going to pollard mine this year but it's probably too late now!
i haven't decided whether to cut back the paulownia yet, but there are buds forming all the way up the stem.
cheers

I always do mine early as I don't want it to waste energy pushing out buds that I am going to chop off.

Re: Paulownia Growth
just snap all the buds except one off, and that one will have all the energy pumped into it.
Best regards

Re: Paulownia Growth
I only cut mine back a couple of weeks ago.
I always cut back to the bottom two buds of last years growth.
you get a nice thick trunk
The plant will grow over the cut although you do get a wonky trunk, but this will disappear under the new growth..
Can be seen in growth on the left of this shot
