How to stop slugs without the need for pellets or tabs
Hi i need to stop slugs from eating my tulips but can not use tabs or pellets because of my dog a child. Is there any other way i can do this i was told to use soap suds or salt but surely salt will harm the tulips?

Kata, I was going to say a pot of bear sank into the soil with a cover to keep the rain out, they die happy and piffed

Yes seriously they go for the beer and fall in and drown, but before then, they are piffed out there slug brains, so die happy, if you have an old slate or roof tile to keep the rain off, but raise it up so the slugs can get to the free beer.

Would your dog find them if you just put one or two pellets round the base of your plant. You don't need a whole load, just a few. I've heard of the beer method but not tried it. Others I've heard go out at night on slug watch collecting them by torchlight. Seriously.

Seeing slugs piffed up now that would be a sight to see Dicass - My Dog would find the pellets no problem i just don't know if he would be dumb enough to eat them?
