I know... silly money.

I have a yellow Musa Zebrina, what do you think. Will I get £200 on eBay.

Seriously though, I thought Zebrina (blood banana) was redish in some way, not yellow. I have never grown these before, and only have 1 plant out of 10 seed. Is this colour normal :?:

Dave that does not really look like a Zebrina in terms of leaf shape-although that could change as it matures. Strange variegation , it will be interesting to see how that develops.
Perhaps it could fetch as much as the pair of Ae Ae's (£1500). That was the small one on Ebay and a much larger thing done as a separate deal.

What is the plant behind the var "sickly" nana :?:

Hi Don,

I suspect the sickly looking nana is actually a sickly nana. The yellow streaks went brown, just like virused cannas. I had it in the sun so maybe the yellowy bits got burnt. It is now in quarantine indoors, away from all the other nanas and out of direct sun. I'll see how it goes.

I have a second zebrina germinated and this one looks more green.

The plant behind the sickly nana is a sikki nana. Seed grown. has quite nice markings, but got a bit battered by the hail and wind this week. Unfortunately they seem to lose the red as they get bigger. :)
Best regards

I thought the red variegated nana looked a bit like Zebrina :?
That Sikkimensis is the one they call Red Tiger, amongst other things. It tends to hold the colour a bit better than the ordinary Sikki.
It will be interesing to see how the "sickly" nana performs.

This is the sikki - which I grew from seed last year. Just plain sikkimensis not labelled a Red Tiger.

The latest leaf has a reddish underside with clear green patches. The top has the red splashes but unfortunately there are less of them.
