Grown too many and killed too many.
At one point I had 68 different species on the go, everyone does it but you grow out of it.
How many more times? Cordyline ISNT a bloody palm!

Re: how many plams do you have
That is a different topic as we are talking about how many plams we have, not how many plams we've lostMonkeyDavid wrote:And what palms have people lost this year?

From the original title "how many plams (palms) do you have"
I have about 600 roughly, mostly T. fortunei in various stages. A number of others that are in a garden setting, focusing on the most hardy types.
Cheers, Barrie.

Re: how many plams do you have
If this was asked this time last year I would have said one Trachycarpus. Since them I've started a collection which hopefully one day (if we ever sell the house) I will plant in a much bigger garden!
1 Jubaea C
1 normal Trachycarpus
1 very stretched Trachycarpus
1sturdy waggy
1 takil
1 manipur
1 latisectus
3 chammies
1 L Australis
1 butia capitata
1 butia eriospatha
1 butia ?
2 small Phoenix canariensis_CIDP
2 washies
1 B armata
1 T Campestris
3 date palm seedlings
1 sabal seedling
plus quite a few more on their way from Amulree
(sorry crappe spellings)

Re: how many plams do you have
The list:
4 small washingtonia filifera (originally had 10, they are all slowly dying off I think)
3 canary island date palm (good performer, tolerates windy, wet but mild winters well, seems to like rain)
3 small chamaerops humilis (excellent performer, not fast growing but never damaged by our weather, fronds last years and years undamaged)
1 larger chamaerops humilis (about 2 foot of 5 or 6 inch thick trunk, top frond about chest high).
2 trachycarpus wagnerianus (slightly disappointing, just 1 year old fronds look tatty and only grows 6 new ones a year, slower than Phoenix canariensis_CIDP)
1 small washingtonia robusta (the jury's out, only planted last August)
2 cordyl...ahh, they aren't palms, are they
