24 inches of thick clay, bricks & cement....

I have never dug down that deeply, but, after 24 inches, the clay layer abruptly stopped, and good earth was beneath.

I have excavated more than half dozen builders bag's of clay, and back filled with a quality soil, mixed with slow release feed.
Hopefully both Trachys will like their new home after being stuck in a pot for the past 9 years.......

Yes, very happy with how they have given the garden a more established feel with their height, I can't remember what it was like without them....
