Do you know anyone with a horsebox and towbar?

Horseboxes are tall, protected from the weather, designed to carry heavy objects, anchor points built into the sides. And you can start fertilising from the moment they are on board. Don't take a horse though, that would make things tricky.

Well I got home today to find these two waiting for me....

The seller told me the trunks were 80cm tall, lord knows what points he was measuring between, cos I measured them and they are 120cm plus...!!

Bloody good job I didn't drive up there with the hope of getting both of them crammed in the back of my car...........

Wow!

They are massive!

So much did you pay all in all for the two of them?

They are definatelt a lot bigger than I was expecting, that's for sure.

I paid £95 each and a door to door courier collection was an extra £65.

It was a blinking job lifting them on my own into the back garden, now I just have to get them planted.... :?

That is really good going mate, well done :)

So, have you dug the holes for them to go in yet?

Looks like I had a lucky escape, I would never have been able to cope with one of them!
I am half relieved & jealous/envious as well...
They will be just magnificent once you have them planted.
Be warned Simba, think a bit before you dig the holes... they aren't something you'll want to move again.

That's absolutely true.
In my garden where plants get dizzy cos I move them about, these two are going to be permanently sited.

Only concerns I have now, is how deep I can dig down, and how the heck I am going to lift these into position..... :?

Simba, if you want a hand with them I'll help you [but not this weekend].

Do they have pots? That'll be the challenge, getting them out!!!

Simba
with two nice evenly sized palms, have you thought about putting them either side of a driveway entrance or path. They'd make a nice statement. Seen it done with other palms and its very effective, even seen it done with huge agave as well. icon_thumleft

It's a good idea Arlon, but I don't have anywhere with any symmetry where that could be possible.

Te Be honest, now that I have seen the size of them, I am thinking I am going to have a serious problem getting both in at all....
