Hi there
I stayed in padron only 20 minutes from Santiago a couple of week ago and stumbled accross a vision of paradise! Phoenix Reclinata a massive specimen, over forty different trunks up to 30ft high,a cluster of truncks almost ten feet in diameter, arching away from the centre,a stunning plant if in Spain well worth a visit!

Re: Stunning palm find in Padron Galicia
Does anyone know of any Phoenix Reclinata unprotected in the uk or France?
Re: Stunning palm find in Padron Galicia
I know they had one on Tresco, not sure if it is still there though & apparently there used to be a 30ft tall one in Penzance but it died after the winter of 1987 when -9.9C finished it off...
Re: Stunning palm find in Padron Galicia
not palm related - but Santiago is well worth a visit too! it's where I want to be buried!
