I want to buy a couple more yuccas for my garden, i have had a yucca gloriosa variegata in a pot for the last 4 years which doesnt seem to have minded our very cold last couple of winters so would like to buy a couple more.

Would you plant them straight out into the garden now or keep in the conservatory and plant out next spring?

Are all yuccas as equally hardy, is there any i should avoid?

No... not all Yucca species are equally hardy. A little research and some input here can help you select the types you want. You may be limited to what's available, but the internet offerings can perhaps solve some of your needs.

Avoid? ... if you're refering to hardiness levels, Y. elephantipes is quite tender by most standards.

I would plant now. Early autumn is a good time of year to plant.

Cheers, Barrie.
