Bought a couple of yuccas from B&Q yesterday for £5 each.

I picked a gloriosa var. up from my local B&Q, but they were still £10 down here (reduced from £20), however the label says 'semi hardy'. I suppose they are less hardy than the non varigated version? Either way I'm keeping mine inside for the winter.

They are proper hardy in my view. The only thing that can cause their demise is if lots of leaves and rubbish collect in the crown and start to rot. This can spread to the Yucca and damage/kill it. Always a good idea to brush out the rubbish from your yuccas.
The varigated glorisa survived -10 in my garden and weeks of freezing weather without any damage what so ever.

this is a good one, only problem with glauca is they do like to flower but this makes them branch and they do recover quite quickly after flowering.

Well there out there for the winter now lol so they have two choices
Part of my garden is on a really steep slope which i cant seem to do anything with so hoping to try and get a few things like yuccas established on there, something other than weeds!!

They should do well Lee.
I like the Glauca Red. just recieved seed from Mesa Garden, Mexico so in for the long haul. Yuccas do seem to form good size plants in just a few years though so fingers crossed looking forward to planting out in three years.

Mine has taken -15, never been protected, had chemicals spilt all over it, and it still is totally untroubled and surging forward, and flowers every season too.
