Covering yuccas in the growing season?.

Post by karl66 »

I have 3 big trunked yuccas, a thompsonia, rostrata, & faxionia, they are all planted out, i was wondering whether it was still best to try & cover them with the nonstop rain or is this only required in the winter when there not growing?. karl.

If they are strong healthy plants they shouldn't need covering now.

They don't always cope with our winters though Kris as I have lost lots over the years.

I would say that it is okay at the moment because it should get milder/warmer soon, but if it was 6 or 7 months from now I would try and keep them drier.
