Great news, Rod icon_thumleft

Looking for an autumn surprise with mine. Came back from a month away last summer having accidentally left it in a container full of water with the roots rotted. Cleaned it up from the bottom back to what I hope is live tissue and praying for rot to turn to root.

Thanks Greville.
They are pretty tough plants, we have some friends that dug theirs up and threw them on the compost heap as they did not want any spiky plants in the garden anymore. After two weeks just sitting on the top of the heap i saw them and asked if i could have them. He said yeah sure take them all. I planted them up at my mothers house as i already have my own and they are coming back nicely.
Are they cheap to buy in the UK ? ( Are they easily available )

Lucky you! icon_thumleft

A favourite supplier here has them for £10 or £15 but he regularly has half price sales but not currently in stock, I notice.

I've got a few spares at 4 inches across, 1 or 2 a bit bigger.

Thanks for the update Rod icon_thumleft
