Hi All, I recently acquired a Dasylirion Longissimum from the Palm Centre as part of their 30% sale.
The plants leaves at the tips are brown.. Is there something wrong with it or is this normal for Dasylirion Longissimum?
I read online they grow faster in the ground than in the pot so wondering if this is the cause of it being potted for to long.
Dasylirion longissimum Leave Tips Going Brown?
Re: Dasylirion longissimum Leave Tips Going Brown?
I would say that brown tips are normal, although I grow D. Wheeleri, the tip of each leaf is paler almost straw coloured.
Re: Dasylirion longissimum Leave Tips Going Brown?
Yes, brown leaf tips is perfectly normal, and nothing to worry about. If you are planting in the ground, growth will be quicker,[but growth would still be pretty slow], but sharp drainage is a must.
However, unless it's trunked already, growing in a tall pot would show it off more in my opinion, and allow it to eventually produce a nice spherical shape.

As said before brown tips are normal, nothing to worry about.
