Colocasia gigantea 'Thai Giant'
Re: Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain
This is one awesome plant Jim I saw pics of it on other forum with your mobile phone placed on one of the leaves. Either you got a micro cell phone or them leaves are enormous
Must get myself one. We live in similar climate so it should be growing well at my place.

That was funny!
I have another picture of it with a 5 gallon bucket
next to it for scale-a buddy of mine and I were noticing
that the 5g bucket looked like a 1 gallon!
I need to post another pic of it now that the leaf has grown out-
The new leaf came out 4" bigger that the last and grew 3" yesterday-
so it should be even bigger!
We are currently in a heatwave with night temps
75-80f(27c)/day temps 95-100f(38c)

Now that is a huge plant ..... but nothing on Google about a Guatamalan Colocasia. That vid seem to be the only reference to it.
Best regards

Re: Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain
My two thai giants from Germany arrived today. Perfectly packaged so safe and sound on delivery. Consequently I will get some pictures of them on here tomorrow. I must say for me they do look like Thai giant OK from pictures I've seen on the net, so I'll put them on here for you all to judge
Re: Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain
here are my two Thai giants from ebay that came yesterday
Re: Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain
WOW! They are big! Looking tired after the journey but they recover in no time. Scott maybe you should email Plant Delights and ask if it really is Thai Giant Strain to be sure
Re: Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain
Thanks. Yes they are fab plants, the smaller one doesn't appear to have suffered from the journey at all.
That one will be going into the pond tomorrow. I also got Jack's giant yesterday and with Borneo Giant coming next week, with my mammoth, I reckon I've got the big leaves sorted
