It seems lack of heat has not held them back this year.

Yes they only have 4 or 5 leaves at the most, older ones dying off. The one going brown was also damaged by the gales and had the lobes completely ripped off :ahhh!:

my newest leaf opened up today at 66 cm. decent size considering its only been about 21C for the highs this week and 4C in the night time. most of my stuff is dry stored already.. got the black corals and the diamond head and mammoths still to dig up...as long as its still putting out good leaves I'm going to let it go till a hard frost.

One thing it becoming pretty obviously to me, is how short your autumn/fall is Mike. You seem to go from hotter than our summer to frosts in just a few weeks. Here autumn/fall is from mid August to mid November. First air frost for me is generally the last few days of October, but can range from mid October to early January. Mammoths grow until frosted which can be as late as after Christmas.

it SAYS on the calendars that out winter dosen't start until december 20th I think somthing close to that but it will be very cold by then. all the trees are turning colors and the lows are like 4 or 5c at night now. we had a light frost already but it didn't seem to hurt anything I say it will be in the 0c range in maybe 2 weeks. It really does go from summer to winter in about a month.
