These gaolis were the stolon node pups grown over the winter 2011/12, and planted out on 15th June this year. See top half of pic. Then we had a very dull, wet June and July, followed by reasonably warm August. During that time the gaolis were fed well, and the bottom half of the pic shows the stems and rhizome today 13th October. I am pleased with the growth in what was a very mediocre summer.
These are to be mulched well and left in position over winter

do you find that colocasia don't have much anchorage to the ground?
both my colocasia goali and formosana seem to just be sat on the soil surface.

My 1st time with these this year. Was gifted a plant earlier in the season and surprised how big they are...............

I haven't noticed that Ken. It may depend on how deep you have it planted to start with. If the top of the rhizome is above the soil it will produce less roots, as they emerge from the top.Mr List wrote:not bad
