nobal gigante is a great one Dave you will really like it. there very easy to play with by putting them in the sun and getting that deeep purple then sitting them in shade awhile and getting a strange green blue..then back to purple I'm so mean to them

Re: Dragon Heart Gigante
I think all of these need as warm a place as we can find in the UK, as they are all based on C. gigantea 'Thai Strain'. My standard gigantea are all growing, both in the conservatory and in the Lunar Module, but the Thai Strain is stubbornly doing nothing
Best regards

Re: Dragon Heart Gigante
they do best over here Dave in HOT shade..which sounds funny but I guess its more hot and humid days in the shade and pour the fert to them. I honestly don't think you can over feed them. I hope nobel gigante does good for you this year.

Re: Dragon Heart Gigante
Like Dave has said, I think the Thai giant part of the cross… that would probably slow them down here.
That wouldn’t stop me trying one though we could easily be wrong about that… finger crossed.
They would be an impressive addition to the colocasia collection if they performed well here… so thanks for telling us about them Mike!!
Wonder what a Burgundy stem/mammoth cross would look like.
Has any of the members ever flowered a Burgundy stem?

Well I must give credit where its due you are right Grub. that is as fast as I have ever seen a new introduction make it to the UK. everyone should try and pick one up if they can.
