Now that I am officially allowed to talk about it everyone check out this new hybrid from Brians. Hopefully soon in the UK or get with me in the spring and we might be able to work out a plan of action

nobal gigante is a great one Dave you will really like it. there very easy to play with by putting them in the sun and getting that deeep purple then sitting them in shade awhile and getting a strange green blue..then back to purple  I'm so mean to them

I think all of these need as warm a place as we can find in the UK, as they are all based on C. gigantea 'Thai Strain'. My standard gigantea are all growing, both in the conservatory and in the Lunar Module, but the Thai Strain is stubbornly doing nothing

they do best over here Dave in HOT shade..which sounds funny but I guess its more hot and humid days in the shade and pour the fert to them. I honestly don't think you can over feed them. I hope nobel gigante does good for you this year.

Like Dave has said, I think the Thai giant part of the cross… that would probably slow them down here.
That wouldn’t stop me trying one though we could easily be wrong about that… finger crossed.
They would be an impressive addition to the colocasia collection if they performed well here… so thanks for telling us about them Mike!! icon_salut

Wonder what a Burgundy stem/mammoth cross would look like. icon_scratch
Has any of the members ever flowered a Burgundy stem?
