Alocasia Macrorrhiza bulb that won´t grow

Post by Frost »

I bought an Alocasia Macrorrhiza bulb last year. It had a small green sprout comming out of it when I bought it, but it has stayed that way for a year now. Nothing happens. I am in Norway, but I am growing banana plants in the window next to it, so I don´t think it is too cold. Can it be dead and still be green? Any tips would be appreciated :)

Hi Frost, and welcome to the forum icon_salut

Alocasia if they go darmant (back to just a shoot) need very high temperatures to coax them into growth, but once growing will be happy with temps in the 20sC.

I put together a post on this back in Feb Boil in the Bag brings Alocasia back to life
Best regards
Dave
