Colocasia Jacks Giant

Post by Seany »

My wife has just presented me with this Colocasia "Jacks Giant" measuring about 12cm across and 14cm height :ahhh!:

Trouble is i do not know which way is up before planting it icon_scratch

My best guess is as orientated in the photo (Bottom at lower part of photo)

Any instructions regarding orientation and planting depth would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

It won't make much difference as the shoots will grow upward, but you can try sprouting it in a plastic bag. Just breath in the bag, seal, and put in a warm dark place. The roots appear around the top of the rhizome.

I wouldn't expect too much from it now this year, as the light is fading fast, and growth even in warm conditions will be fairly slow.
Best regards
