Sasa kurilensis 'Shimofuri'

Post by AndyC »

I've had this boo in the ground for a couple of years and it has remained quite small (about 3ft high) and well behaved.

I think it can grow as large as the species, i.e. up to 8ft. Has anyone got a large specimen or seen one growing to that sort of height?

A good looking bamboo.... icon_study can grow to 8 foot when mature, needs some shade. It has a running habit. A slow runner at first, but vigorous when established.

I like the look of that. Not heard much about it. Time to consult "Taming the Dragon" icon_study

Mine's about 6ft, but I find it quite slow to bulk up, I've had no new culms this year just plenty of new leaves.
