digging up.

Hi every one i was wondering when i could dig up a phyllostachys aurea . well i think it is as i have two types one has a rough stem when you run your hands up it the other is silky smooth and has huge culms.
unfortunately they have decided to go into my neighbours and they are not best pleased though when i went round to have a look there was only i cane there but the other bamboo they were complaining about was nothing like mine it is a low growing one that has obviously spread out of control and is dark green. any way to appease things i promised to remove mine but i dont know when, i would like them to survive but what to do with them afterwards i have no idea as the clumps are now getting rather large and dont know if i should just keep the youngest bits and discard the middle of the bamboo i love it but will have a lot of it to put somewhere else if i try to keep it all . :(
