pics of new culms
Re: pics of new culms
this warm weather has certainly made for some impressive culm growth rate, size and production on my vivax's.they seem to have caught up with themselves after a slow beginning due to the cool spring.

Better late than never Stephanie! Which species do you find best in the most exposed positions?
Re: pics of new culms
vivax has certainly caught up with itself culms around 30ft now and look like theres a couple more feet to go.
Re: pics of new culms
4 days later vivax at 35ft this warmth certainly has made a difference to them.
Re: pics of new culms
jacko, when you have grove's off different boo's example aureo & aureasulcata, do you let them grow into each other or do you try to keep each variety separate?. karl.
Re: pics of new culms
karl, they seem happy enough growing together as different species intermingled.but i am noticing some competition for light.the leaf canopy is slowly getting higher up as branches on culms below 7ft dont make it and die off.i pruned up to 5ft on culms a couple of years ago now it is 7ft and rising as they mature.cheers kata.
