Phyllostacys prominens
Anyone growing this? Could be the next BIG thing. I've just obtained a 5ltr pot.

Yeah I've just got a 5 lt pot from Scottish bamboo. Was after moso but they didn't have any and recommended this instead.
Got it planted in the ground mulched,fed and fingers crossed!
Done some research since and the only good picture I found was from one growing in Belgium and it was big.be interesting to see how this goes.

no sorry kris but it is a nice variety.looks like it gets quite large.

Hi Kris. I've just bought a 5ltr pot of prominens from Scottish bamboo, was after Moso but they were out and recommended tis instead. I've put it straight in the ground with compost and mulched it now fingers crossed!
I done some research on this type and looks quite new to this country the only good pic I found was from Belgium and it was a monster! Be interesting to see how it goes with yours and anyone else on the board growing it.
