Mushy basjoos

When the cold has started to get to a Musa basjoo, whether potted or in the ground, do you simple cut it down to the level that the pseudostem is still firm ..... or does it need to be cut right back to the base?

I would personally cut it too the firm, but if you do cut the stem to the ground it will re-shoot.

We might still have lots of cold to come yet, so you might want to wait a little while yet.

I am just thinking ahead .... my mushy ones are actually smaller ones in pots that were in a greenhouse, which got colder than expected on some of our really cold nights. I have brought them in to the far warmer conservatory now.
