Here is one of mine
And the 3 pups.
I have another single which I have given to my mum and that's doing just as well as this one and also a double stem one which is smaller but also has a new pup.
Has anyone got a musa griersonii
Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
Looks like a money spinner, I have just looked through the Musas on E bay and there is a Griersonii for £90!!!
Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
Don't fall for it, from what I've read recently Griersonii is none other than Daj Giant...

Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
It's a shame, but I must admit the last 3 Musa I have bought have not been what they were sold as, which is why I don't rush around attempting to buy from nurseries or ebay.
I think a lot of it is finding old superseded names and reviving them as a new species..... Chamaerops excelsia for instance.

Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
I'm fed up with all the marketing cons, paid a lot of money for uber rare Griersonii seed and later find out it's the 'real' name for Daj Giant. Look at the pics, just screams Sikkimensis. Annoying thing is though, even looking at seedlings they look like Sikkis. Doh!

Link does not work. Gives a 404 error. What is more that forum is closed and not been used for over a year. I can't find what you were looking at but it may be out of date.

Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
Strange.i have copied some and done photo bucket on some as its an attachment on the page and wouldn't copy over.
This is an extremely rare Musa (and beautiful) from Bhutan known only from one collection a long time ago, it exists nowhere else and hasn\'t been seen in ages. The reason I brought this up is because a while back I got some unknown Musa seed out of Bhutan and along with a few others, we were very hopeful that it might be griersonii. Unfortunatly, the seed tells us nothing as it is identical to most larger Eumusa species and the plant description is not consistant with M. griersonii. Im still waiting for mine to germinate, and after reviewing a lot of info, I think it may be thomsonii or a varieation of thomsonii which would still be very exciting. Anyways, heres the only record of the incredible Musa griersonii Noltie.

Re: Has anyone got a musa griersonii
Yes, but once someone says it is rare and has been lost from cultivation, someone is bound to come up with it in a form no-one can verify..... seed.
