I have 25 seeds and nothing showing yet… I don’t have them in a heated prop just in a tray in the poly; think I’ve had them for 4-5 weeks now.
I would be interested to hear about your method of propagating them… also yes pictures please :)

So would I!
60% germination in 5 weeks is pretty good going

Will do some pics in a bit. I soaked them in water for 5 days but I put the glass in the propagator at 30 c. Then once I came off holiday I put them in a mixture of sharp sand, top soil and compost. And left in the propagator at the 30 c all that time.

I have 4 now that have spouted. Lol. Makes a change as I never have any luck with musa or ensetes

James said the seed came from a private collection in cultivation via Kenibreed and wasn’t collected in the wild.

There is very little information on the net regards griersonii… it was discovered in 1994 by Dr.Henry Noltie, of the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. He commented that this is a very distinctive species known only from a single gathering in Bhutan.
It’s said to be a very beautiful plant… and in his description of griersonii he said that the underside of the midrib is blackish purple;
The only other species that I can think of that looks similar to that is true nagensium!
So if you eventually see that colouration on yours B19bst then it is most likely you have griersonii icon_thumright

Thanks Tony, none of mine have popped yet. Probably because they're still in the envelope

I think I may have fried my seed in the poly Grub… went to pick the tray up the other day and it was very hot

Here is a pic of the underside of the leaf on one of my nagensium.

I've got a griersonii,not seedling,but establishe plant.
Got it from Kev 52st state a couple I years ago when he was selling musas on eBay. Kevin scales is the only other person I know that's growing one.
I can put a pic on Facebook in a little while, but can't upload to here from my phone

Fingers crossed its the real deal. The seeds where bought at the musa griersonii . The seeds look alot different to normal musa seeds also. Only time will tell.

If they end up not being what I bought them as its not the end of the world .

Fingers crossed any way.

Will post the progress.

One question is should I put them in separate pots now as they have spouted.

Doesn't work for me Dave.
Still can't add a file. The choose file box isn't active on my iPhone.
I've a similar problem on the other forums.
Hence my lack of activity on them
I know it's easy enough to upload to my laptop then post, but I can never find the time to do it.
Facebook apps makes life much easier:)
