Need some advice on a musa basjoo plant I recently bought... put out its first leaf so I watered it the leaf started turning brown in patches and wasn't looking good... but a new leaf started and looked healthy a week later the soil was bone dry so I give it a little water and same thing happened to the second leaf..... soil not soaked watered very little to be honest..... any advice please

It could be several things. You are not supposed to let them dry out when growing so it might not have been watered enough, hence leaf going brown. Bananas like to have a lot of moisture. If its a young plant it may have leaf scorch from too much dry heat or strong sunlight.

Chez as suggested main faults it could be .Could i ask therfore
1.Where do you currently have the plant
2. How old is it
3. Is it in a big enough pot.(too small a pot could dry out to quickly )
How /where was it kept where you bought it from. ie light level was it on capilary matting
like Chez i suspect not enough water.
