Some ferns have red/orange leaves when just emerging. I guess yours is one of those.

Quite normal for a lot of ferns Cordy.

Like a numpty, i was picking the fronds off all my Dryopteris erythrosora thinking they were fried , only to find out they were the new emerging fronds

We live and learn

Quite usual for some ferns.

Not sure how long those emerging ferns will last given that we are now technically in winter :(

It's Blechnum barailiense, and normal for this species. I'm affraid mine just died in the livingroom while I was on vacation :(

Kind regards,
Remko.
