LOPHOSORIA QUADRIPINATA SITING
Ordered myself one of these ferns for next year but wondering if anyone had more success with this in full sun or shade? Read the thread before but has anyone got any conclusion on it?
Re: LOPHOSORIA QUADRIPINATA SITING
I have had mine potted in full sun and partial shade and it seemed happy in both although direct sun is likely to damage new croziers. We didn't have much last year to test this theory. Its suppose to be quite hardy. Mine hasn't been protected this winter so far and is still green. It is now in the ground in partial (full in winter) shade, but this is also colder during winter months.Steady wrote:Ordered myself one of these ferns for next year but wondering if anyone had more success with this in full sun or shade? I have 2 planted out, a large one & a smaller one, both in semi shade & both done well this year. like most ferns they either prefer shade or semi shade. karl.

Looking forward to growing this fern as have read some good things so far, think will go for partial shade . What is the growth rate like on these as have read they can grow pretty large but not sure wheather it can be achieved in uk?

I think I will have to get one, it would fit great in garden when the lawn has been lifted. One shoud work well with my tree ferns.

Preferably one that doesn't cost a kings ransom, plug plants anyone!

I was kindly given a small division by someone from this very site. I can't for the life of me remember who, BUT, I am VERY, VERY grateful!!
