I generally don't cut them off, unless fried. 5 or my 6 stay green most years, particularly as I throw duvets over in really hard frosts, but having said that they took -7.1C in mid December, as the frost was not forecast to be harsh but they have still remained green The 6th one always fries even in -3C.karl66 wrote:On my dicksonia's i have always cut frond base's back to approx an inch & half above trunk ? , i've noticed on other blog's/pic's that others leave them alot longer? . karl.
