Instead of cable ties, I always try to use my Cordyline leaves where I can get away with it. Cut one off, easy to tie, they are stronger than you would imagine, and they will last a year. Same as string, I never use that either, with the added bonus that they're free icon_cheers Cheapskate.

i got 1000 cable ties from aldi for £5 :D

easy on, clip off in seconds icon_thumleft
