Large tree ferns in UK!

These arn't huge, but the biggest i've seen around here in some abundance, unfortunately some were killed off in 2009/2010 as can be seen by the empty crowns

looks like C Dealbata to the right hand side of the picture.

Ironiccally the large tree ferns I have have recently developed smaller leaves than the smaller ones ,some three feet or so high have done fantastic and the tall ones have developed smaller leaves over the years ,some I have had for fifteen years.The used to get fed with chicken pellets with very little initial result that I could tell.

Helligan is impressive but tallest I've seen are probably East Ruston Old Vicarage.

Penjerrick has some very old tree ferns (the oldest in the UK, so happy are they there that there are hundreds of self sown spoorlings around the gardens even saw some growing on tree branches above ground, if visiting do wear wellies its always wet

i wish tree ferns would naturally germinate in my garden.

The garden couldn't be any damper, the lawn completely died.
