Wow, that's not just flowering it's positively erupting! Amazing sight.

Will your Trachycarpus get pollenated in situ Bill?

thanks for your reply googlebox, as i have male and female plants they seem to self pollinate each year and because of this i get untold thousands of round black seeds every year.
i just gave a bin bag full of seeds to a forum member early this week and i must still have a hundred more bags i can fill up ,and that is just last years seeds?

There is a garden near me that has numerous Trachies exactly flowering like yours! An amazing sight. I wonder if the winter has prompted it?

Nope, it'll have been the hot early summer last year. Flower initiation and development takes a lot longer than just 4 or 5 months!

More like what will you do with all the seed Bill?

Put them on Ebay and I will purchase some, or let me buy from you some other way, obviously fresh is best..

Awesome sight!!!

Variable, depending on location, age of plant, etc. Older plants in full sun in warmer summer areas flower most if not all years, younger plants, or in shade or in cooler summer areas, less often.

Cut them off before they set seed then!

To be honest I would be glad to see my trachies still alive...

Sorry for being grumpy, but I can't be bothered much about many things at the moment :(

i gave a forum member a green bag filled with untold thousands of t fortuni seeds last week. also i gave him a few dozen t wagnerianus seeds as well.
iff that lot germinates the whole of uk will be covered in trachys?
i still have at least a million seeds left and they all want a good home so iff any forum members are in southampton this year just arrange a visit and take what you want.
