Butia Odorata - Aka capitata ( Significant Variability )

Post by Rod »

Hi There - I have 2x Butia odorata ( capitata ) that show significant form variability - probably close to the limits of either end of the species.
( My 2x palms below )
I actually like this, variability. There is also the Half-way form that's 50% of each, which i have also seen here.
One of these must be more cold hardy than the other ? What are your thoughts ?

They do vary a lot, the smaller ones have more recurved leaves and as they get bigger the leaves are longer and less recurved so could be just an age thing!
