Southsea Phoenix canariensis_CIDP seedlings

Does anyone have any Phoenix canariensis_CIDP's grown from seed produced on the southsea Phoenix canariensis_CIDP's and have they proven to be tougher than other Phoenix canariensis_CIDP's ?

I did search around when I visited Southsea last weekend but they were all gone.

Maybe some one else on the forum has managed to get a few.

Dave Brown has one as do a few members on the European Palm Society forum... I did have some but gave them away as really don't want another Phoenix canariensis in my garden...

They wont be any hardier though as it would take many generations each growing in cooler conditions to possibly make them hardier. The fruits on the Southsea ones are now produced too high up to reach so I will have to keep a look out underneath them to see if any drop off...

At what temperatures do the leaves usually begin to burn on the average Phoenix canariensis_CIDP? I'm guessing -3/-4.

On a side note I could not resist the offer on Palm Centre at the moment, big CIDPs for £38.. If you want a Phoenix canariensis_CIDP get one there now, It arrived today and it is gigantic for the price.

I guess the heating cables I had planned to use on the Butia will now be used on the Phoenix canariensis_CIDP... 4 trachies, 2 chamaerops and 1 Phoenix canariensis_CIDP planted this year, please mother nature don't give us another winter like 2010 lol.
