Nice video Bill, lovely to see thriving mature palms.
Re: AN EXOTIC GARDEN IN SOUTHAMPTON,UK.
Brilliant vid, Bill
At a pinch, I'd say you have more mature Trachs in your patch than the whole of Abbotsbury

All of them? :
I think it must be my J Chiliensis near the end of the video.
The video had to be done in a hurry and as its the first time that I have ever done one I must admit that the quality was not great.
It does look a bit better on U TUBE under the same heading.
I will learn from this and make a better one next time?

The tallest one was planted in 1976 as a 12 inch baby bought from Bill Spinks from the Palm Center in Humberside.Andy P wrote:Fantastic Bill. . How old are the tallest Trachies you have?
Every other palm was planted at yearly intervals after 1976.

have you got an unedited version?
i can't watch those anti-shake youtube videos, the black bars jumping around are far too distracting.

I don't like them much either but it looks even worse on the unedited version.Mr List wrote:have you got an unedited version?

Be patient and I will do a better version with commentary soon.
This was my first attempt and at my age of 67 with shaky hands it wasn't easy to make?
I will get a younger friend of mine to make a better one next time.

WOW ! 36 years old then. I was only ten when that was planted. I`d have to live to 82 to see my seedlings become that tall. Magnificent Palms Bill. You must be made up with them. I`m currently trying to buy the biggest ones i can afford so i don`t have to wait till i`m 82.billdango wrote:The tallest one was planted in 1976 as a 12 inch baby bought from Bill Spinks from the Palm Center in Humberside.Andy P wrote:Fantastic Bill. . Great to see your mature Palms Bill, I'm digging the soundtrack too. It's going to take a long time for most of us to catch you up.!
Re: AN EXOTIC GARDEN IN SOUTHAMPTON,UK.
wow Billdango, those palms I thought i was watching a vid of a garden in spain apart from next doors conifer, it must feeling pretty inferior next to your amazing plants
Re: AN EXOTIC GARDEN IN SOUTHAMPTON,UK.
Wow the jubaea has alot more of an elegant and elongated leaf shape as it has grown surrounded by the other plants and in a bit of shade rather than those that are grown in the open in full sun like my two which tend to have shorter more stiff looking leaves, very nice mature planting.
