Jezza that's unfair, I've always said I no very little ie plant names how tall things grow when and what flower type soil type etc so if you think most of mine are waffling then so be it so that would put me back to 0003 would that make you happy, and you don't do any waffling at all?, I don't think so, I know so, you do :lol: :lol: :lol:

Humidity, heat and light. No real secret, just almost impossible to create in the UK unless you have Kew's glasshouse.

Sounds like we need to source a supply of germinated coconuts before the shade house merchants get hold of them. They might be much tougher then :wink:

Worth a try, but I wouldnt expect too much. It may be possible to get suitable coconuts from an asian grocer, the ones in Tesco etc have been processed for sale.

I have germinated a coconut from Tesco icon_sunny . The strange thing is it germinated within 7 days, which is very fast for a coconut, so maybe taking the husk off can aid germination? Sadly it is not alive now, I decided it was warm enough to switch the heating mat off, but the sprout soon went brown and rotted :( And there is nothing worse than the smell of a rotting coconut ! icon_aaargh
