Dyckia seedlings

Post by alain45 »

The Dyckia are succulents belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. I sowed a dozen species in a substrate composed of 1/3 compost, 1/3 river sand and 1/3 vermiculite. I keep my seedlings at 20 ° C with artificial lighting. Germination starts after 10-15 days. The rate of germination is generally good. Seedlings are kept moist until germination.

Your plants look good and I've just looked them up to see what they will look like. All the best with your gardening. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Have you got any other seedlings growing?

I had good success with some agave seeds, very slow though. I also did the beginners mistake with palm seeds, until I realized how slow they are!

I am passionate about seedling... I'm addict  . In 2012, I sowed Agave, Echeveria, Aeonium, Sedum (hardy or not), Anacampseros, Crassula, Aychrison, Puya, Hechtia, Sempervivum, Jovibarba, Tephrocactus .... and others. You can see some pictures on my site.
This year I will sow Dasylirion, Phormium, Cordyline and still succulent drunken_smilie1
