Thanks for feedback. That's very different from the 75w for a similar length for the standard soil cable. Still you could always buy several and parallel them, but then the cost is no better. I'll probably stick with my usual.

I guess these things are often over rated power wise but 12W seems very low for the rating. Can I ask how you measured it?

Simon, Thats what i thought.
I plugged it into one of Maplins power consumption meters. To be sure i also chcked a few lamps and other sundry devices around the house and most were within 3w of their stated rating so this cable seems way off the mark.

I emailed the trader to let him know and he is going to advise the manufacturer.
No real issue for me, i will just lay the cables a closer together as i cant fit to big a prop in the greenhouse anyway.
