Having read about Ensete ventricosum, there is a geetic variability in these as is the same as any wild plant grown from seed, so you cannot guarantee 100% a red stripe, although that is the most common outcome.

If you want an identical clone you have to propagate vegatively, but in the case of Ensete that means killing the growing point on the mother plant :wink:
