putting my money where my mouth is!-got two (young) Chamaedorea Elegans-under my Trachycarpus-heavily mulched-just bought a large roll of 35g garden fleece, in case it gets very cold. Word of warning they burn easily in full sun (even in our summers) one of them was planted in June and fried to a yellow colour

at £3 each they weren't expensive -but we shall see how they fair in the name of science

I had a C radicalis in the ground for 10 years-it survived the frost until the winter of 2009/2010 saw it off. To be honest it did nothing in the 10 years I had it and to be honest it looked dreadful!

I noticed some small ones for sale at £2-00 in Wilko this week of you wish to get one or two to try out for hardiness.
