Greenhouse and Conservatory Condensation :o(

Post by Dave Brown »

This can be a big problem and contributes to winter rotting. What do you do to try and reduce or eliminate condensation :?:

I use a dehumidifier in the consevatory and this has completely eliminated condensation. It makes the area feel much more confortable.... we were not able to sit out there in winter before... it also allows the sun to shine straight through clear glass raising the temperature significantly and reducing the need to heat. The Dehumidifier also gives off a small amount of heat.

I have not had a greenhouse for years but have just bought a polytunnel which will be going up over the next month. I plan to keep the earth floor dry, but am considering putting ground sheet down to stop any damp evaporating into the tunnel. These are quite cheap costing only £7.99 for a 4 x 2m.
Best regards
Dave
