I have bought a kiwi plant, anyone have experience with that??
how hardie are they ??

Very hardy to winter cold, but being a continental climate species, it does need long, hot summers to mature fruit.

so maybe in a greenhouse is the best?

If you want fruit, yes. But that won't be too easy, as you need both male and female plants (some clones are monoecious, but still need cross-pollination for good fruit set), and they are rampant growers, so you'll need a huge greenhouse.

Otherwise, it'll grow easily outdoors, just don't expect any worthwhile fruit except after the occasional abnormally hot summer (maybe once every 5-10 years or so).

okay i only have one plant
i´ll think i will go to the market and buy some kiwi fruits then :lol:

I bought a couple of vines this year although my decision was based on foliage and the rate they spread rather than wanting fruit.

They look very exotic and, once my fence has become covered, it should make a lush backdrop for palms and other plants.

kiwi plants fruit every year here in southampton . i have a large plant that covers the back of my house and i get lots of nice fat juicy fruits every year. the white flowers smell nice as well . rgds billdango. :D :D :D :D
