TETRAPANAX PAPYRIFERA REX

Post by lee1125 »

Does anyone know what an average price is to pay for one of these plants?

Is this what is known as a T-Rex? Having seen all the pics on here i really want one but cant seem to find any for sale.

Saw this one on ebay, £9.99 in a 2 litre pot, is this a fair price?

Has anyone got any tips for growing these, how hardy are they, can i plant straight into garden?

Hi Lee, my advice is you'll probably get offered one as a result of this forum, 10 quid plus postage is a bit steep. I usually grow mine in large pots with amazing results, this year I put a couple in the ground and the're not as good, maybe due to less feeding more than anything else. If you don't get offered one let me know as I have a few grown from root cuttings. icon_cheers

i got given some roots from someone on here. even a 5mm root about 2 inches long will sprout into a plant, i've kept one plant and passed others on, quite a few to my dad who has grown a few on, i'll see if he has any, ill let you know later in the week when i see him

my bit of root i had in about february currently has a 27inch leaf on it, they grow quite fast!!
