Does anyone grow celmisia?

Post by allangreenbean » Thu Dec 27, 2012 1:00 pm

Just wondering if anyone grows celmisia such as celmisia spectabilis and if it does well in the UK?

never tried those, but Leucanthemum x superbum 'Becky' looks very similar, and is very hardy in Cambridge ... if you deadhead them, you get 2 flushes of blooms in late summer/autumn, and they are evergreen ... these also don't 'flop', so don't need staking:

and, plant them with rudbeckia goldsturm, and you have late summer/autumn/early winter colour for a long time (every year)....
