Thanks all, i've decided the 100gsm is going to be too expensive so bought some Haxnix from b+q 30gsm i think

They are currently buy 3 for price of 2 so got x2 large packs (x2 jackets per peack) and x1 medium pack (x3 jackets per pack)

So 7 jackets for £11.96! icon_cheers £1.70 a jacket icon_cheers

Tried one on a Trachycarpus earlier and it fits great

The big red Cordy down the end is still there but those by the pond were cut right back and now have loads of new shoots from the ground and from the trunks.

I ought to do another garden album as I havent updated my webshots for a couple of years now.

Amazing Adrian, your red cordy (which is really large, i haven't seen them much larger) is the absolute exception to the rule it seems.
Usually they are the first to go and plain green australis survives.

Without the fleece they look like fishing baskets...coddy...

Just buy one and throw a fleece jacket over it.

Just ordered my fleece from Amazan, same as last year,

Excellent quality, washable. I know from last year the biggest are massive.

Three medium bags

Two large Fleece bags...Trachi

Three plant warming jackets

Roughly thee quid each.

Not sure what condition they'll be in when they see light again but I'll keep hold of them I think
In one of my pictures you'll see I had a clear plastic pop up tube that I used over the top of the fleece tube,
these are still available I think and they are very useful for keeping plants open to light.

I can't find plastic tubes either but I did find this ebay seller's shop who has reasonable prices and free shipping on fleece jackets:

Thanks Adrian, I've used the Notify Me feature but if they don't have them in now it doesn't look hopeful.

Hoping I won't be needing any fleece down here this winter, but just to be safe my local hardware store has 20m rolls for 2.99 with a 20gsm rating. Not much I know, but a couple of layers of this would hopefully keep the worst frosts at bay or offer some protection?

I might buy a roll or two and keep in the garage just in case we get any major frosts down here.
