why are daffodils starting to grow already?

noticed lots of daffodil leaves sprouting out the ground, never seen them come up this early before! :? not even midwinter yet! wont the snow and frost kill them back off again?

I've got them coming up as well, only the dwarf types but they seem to appear from early December so are probably an early blooming type........................didn't see them last year though, wonder why icon_scratch ..............oh yeah, buried under a foot of snow :roll:

Some varieties come up now they are fine during cold weather.
Most wanted list - Any Young Trachycarpus and/or fern.

Not unusual. Some years the Crocuses are starting to show before Christmas. Not seen any this year yet.
