Germinating Aloe Polyphylla- your success/ failure please

Post by fieldfest »

Managed to get some fresh seeds from some of these that were flowering on the island. Ive split them into batches to help me get at least some to germinate:

some in moist kitchen roll in a bag in the fridge for a month before bring ing out to warm temperatures
some in kitchen roll, in a bag on a windowsill
some potted in compost in a bag on a windowsill.

if youve had success with these what did you do to them and how do keep them wet without rotting off when theyre babies

Daz

water is the trick my man... soak them and let them germinate in the water... keeep changing it every couple of days... it can take a few weeks.. then pot them on into a loose mix

ive got about 30 on the go, less than a year old and now around 3 inches across
